Covid Vaccine Enthusiasm peaked January 2022
Reading the vaccination data from Our World in Data. Updated April 4, 2023
April 4, 2023: an updated version of this graph, below, shows that Denmark had a short but strong covid vaccine uptake, which is presumably bivalent vaccine.
Every country will have a slightly different story, but overall, the last major push in North America for covid vaccinations occurred over the winter, around January 2022. After that, enthusiasm dropped considerably. I have included Denmark as a comparison, based on the country having the most measured, one could say lukewarm, enthusiasm for covid vaccines in the developed nations of the West.
I have zoomed in on the last several months below.
We have passed peak vaccine enthusiasm, even in Canada.
A project for another day would be to map out the Canadian wavelet in early April 2022 - what caused this surge in vaccination - as well as the wavelet from July 9 to end of July 2022 - which presumably reflects the rollout of the second booster shot.
