Using Our World in Data, it was possible to get a picture of Canada’s relatively common pattern of near-total loss of uptake in covid vaccination.
I was quite concerned about vaccination of children for covid, and in the end, about half of eligible Canadian children aged 5-11 received a vaccine, and about half did not.
The vaccination of toddlers, for whatever reason, is a total failure. My impression is that mass media and government messaging has been as intense as was the case for teens. It would appear that parents have moved on, or become resistant to further covid vaccination.
One month after rollout:
Second boosters are slightly more successful than this. However, there is a major reduction in uptake from first to second booster.
Behavioural psychologists believe that we can see what people are thinking by looking at what they do. 88% of Canadians still have not gotten a second booster.
12% of Canadians still believe in - or are still being coerced to receive - covid boosters in August 2022.
There are minor regional variations from province to province. The most significant that I found is that at least two provinces - Alberta and New Brunswick - did not have any data for second boosters.
Good since there's no endpoint to the Covid hysteria
Tam and PH have no credibility anymore, if no one trusts them who will listen even if they started giving practical advice
