Twitter has suspended around 10 thousand people re covid posts
Musk's council has its work cut out for it
Feeling a little raw about being suspended from Twitter? Didn’t actually threaten anyone or break any laws on the way to suspension? Don’t worry, you are in very good company.
In this article, Robert Kogon examines the data on Twitter suspensions under their “covid misinformation” program. Up until April 2022, there were around 7000 suspensions. Given that the pace of suspensions appeared to increase in mid-2022, it is reasonable to suspect that this total now exceeds ten thousand accounts.
The author has a somewhat pessimistic view on Musk’s chances of bypassing the “covid misinformation” laws in Europe, which carry a rather hefty fine.
Apart from this matter is the question of how exactly Musk would identify and unsuspend ten thousand accounts. Presumably Twitter has a file somewhere with all the names.
If he wanted, Musk could simply announce each suspension as one that was forced on him and name the officials who required them. A published list of the names in Twitter's help/FAQ section would be helpful too.
