It is now ten days since Twitter suspended my account for citing current VAERS numbers. I have used the time away from the platform to catch up on reading on a variety of subjects, mostly dealing with “metabolic medicine” - which looks increasingly like “medicine when you are not reflexively prescribing pharmaceuticals.”
This is not to say that some physicians practice medicine this way. For my part however, I can fairly say that my practice was based on a superficial understanding of the body chemistry (pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics) of the drugs I prescribed.
This reading has been refreshing, as Covid vaccine news was becoming repetitious - mounting evidence of safety issues after vaccine rollout.
I have begun posting items of interest from “metabolic medicine” - not quite the right term - only this time to Gettr. Engagement is practically nil, however this was my early experience with Twitter also.
A colleague recommended that I focus on the immune system in my tweets, well over a year ago. “Too hard” I thought at the time - the literature on the immune system is massive and unsystematic.
Looks like I’ll have some time to render it a little easier to understand, for myself and my readers.
Peace and joy,
JMB MD
I like that you’re looking at medicine differently. It’s refreshing
I’m going to miss your wry humor on Twitter. You always made me laugh.
Good idea on the metabolic medicine. It’ll be very rewarding. Was an interest of mine for several yrs. The diabetic medical complex has lots of money in their models and programs which hasn’t helped many imho, but the paradigm rules.
