Seems like a lot of yelling on Twitter. I must say however that Elon Musk is setting a rather civil and humourous tone. I tried to explain to my son that Musk will need homage a la Chuck Norris but he didn't know who Chuck Norris was...

As I have liked your Substack, two minutes after I received it in my inbox, you should know a few things:

1. I am not very good at moderating my online use - but I believe that this IS the battle for the soul of humanity. Nothing else seems as important right now.

2. I am a speed reader

3. You opened a few eyes in 2021, along with Bridle and others. For that, many of us will always be grateful.

4. Hopefully, we will see you back in the Twitter-verse soon.

I think the quips and one-liners can be effective because humour has a special way of getting at the truth succinctly. (Your RT of Elmo promoting mRNA with “Presented without comment” was priceless.) In terms of limiting use, I may impose the daily time limit feature of Screen Time on my Twitter app. Although the feature is easily overridden, at least I’ll have a better idea of how much time I’m spending. Looking forward to your anticipated return to Twitter.

I feel this and have lately been questioning if I should delete Twitter. Social media always seems to be a black hole of people yelling into the void but I appreciate that on Twitter it seems more people are trying to share information. Of course then it is hard to walk away from wanting to find other nuggets of what research paper someone else may have found… I wish you well with figuring out your own balance. I’m glad that people will be coming back. FWIW, the left wing abandoning of media has mostly been threats, even whooping Goldberg after making a statement on TV didn’t delete her Twitter. Lol

My rule for Twitter (I had signed out of FB and Instagram late 2020 and completely deleted them earlier this year) is when I’m done with everything, work, cooking, laundry all the important stuff then I get on. But most times it’s late and I don’t want to stress before bed. But since musk it’s been better and more stuff to explore. But still not as much time. Maybe on the weekends. As we don’t have kids so more time for ourselves. But now I’m finally on a holiday after being released from Canada jail I’ve had lots of time to scroll at the pool. But honestly I can never catch up and don’t plan on it. It does get too much. But I love your substack and can’t wait to have you back on Twitter.

Do come back. You can limit your time on here. I have more time than most, and twitter has been invaluable for finding rational people like yourself.

I find just coming on a few times a day for a little while, and also refraining from commenting or replying unless I really have something to contribute, helps a lot.
